Building renovation: Angst Bordighera 1887

Located in Bordighera, Italy, and once known as one of the continent’s most prestigious and opulent destinations, Angst’s former patrons include European Royalty, American Industrialists, and wealthy celebrities.
The Angst real estate company is developing the abandoned property, along with the site’s two historic structures, for a total of 130,000 square feet. Once completed, this iconic building will regain its appeal and attract its prestigious clientele.

The building renovation and redevelopment process will introduce modern design and amenities while maintaining its historic significance and integrity by preserving the unit physical features of the construction, including its extensive botanical gardens that will be fully restored to their former grandeur. The renovation aims to revitalize a luxury building while preserving its historical architectural elements and landscape details.

Natural charm and landmarked architecture

The transformation from a hotel structure, albeit devastated, to residential (about 75 fine accommodations) began, under the close supervision of the Archaeological, Fine Arts and Landscape Superintendence for the Provinces of Imperia and Savona, in early 2018 and is currently underway.
The historic complex is characterised by a basement with flanking structure, also underground, intended for cellars and car garages to accompany the apartments.
The ground floor till the fifth one have residential use.
The second floor, in addition to some new apartments, preserves the atrium and monumental halls that, properly restored, constitute valuable common parts.

Completing the historic building is the top floor (the 6th) intended as a penthouse with two apartments of considerable value.
